Anonimus episcopus canonensis, Super Apocalipsim S. Ioannis interpretatio. MCCCXXVIIII. - Lateinische Handschrift auf Pergament.Ohne Ort, 26. September 1438. 88 Bll. Blattgr. ca. 18 : 12 cm. Schriftspiegel 17 : 10,5 cm. Gotische Buchschrift, geschrieben in dunkelbrauner Tinte mit Unterstreichungen in Rot. Ca. 31 Zeilen. Mit 1 kl. Eingangs-Miniatur und 22 kl. Fleuronné-Initialen alternierend in Rot und Blau. - Neuerer rotgefärbter Pgt. aus altem Material.
Anonym verfaßter und in 22 Kapiteln unterteilter Kommentar zur Offenbarung des Johannes. Nach einem Hinweis im 13. Kapitel handelt es sich bei dem Verfasser um einen "episcopus canonensis". Eine weitere Stelle im selben Kapitel erwähnt das Datum 1329: "...usq(ue) ad presentem annum qui est annus d(o)m(ini). MCCCXXVIIII ...", so daß die Entstehung des Werkes für diesen Zeitraum anzusetzen ist. Das Explicit datiert die Abschrift auf den 26. September 1438. - Textbeginn mit einer kl. Miniatur (Johannes; 52 : 34 mm) sowie am Ende der Seite auf einer eingeschlagenen Blatt-Überlänge mit einer siegelartigen Vignette. Titel verso mit zwei lat. Eintragungen von zwei Händen des frühen 16. Jhs. (Hinweis auf die genannten Daten im 13. Kapitel). - Zweite Hälfte im ob. Seitenrand mit schmaler Brandspur (Fehlstelle von ca. 1 cm; etw. Buchstaben- bzw. Wortverlust), Kopfsteg tlw. knapp beschnitten, erstes Textbl. leicht fleckig, letzte Bl. verso mit kl. Stempel. Insgesamt gut erhaltenes und sauber geschriebenes Manuskript, Hervorhebungen rot unterstrichen und in größerem Schriftgrad.
Latin manuscript on vellum. No place, 1438. - 88 ll., sheet-size 18 : 12 cm, text area 17 : 10,5 cm. Gothic bookhand in dark brown ink with underlinings in red. Ca. 31 lines. With small miniature (John) at the beginning and 22 small initials alternately in red and blue. New red-tinted vellum using old material. - Anonymously written commentary on the Book of Revelations, divided in 22 chapters. According to a passage in the 13th chapter the author was an "episcopus canonensis", a further passage indicates that the text was originally written around 1329. The explicit dates Sept. 26th 1438. - Second half in the upper side margin with small trace of a fire (defective spot of about 1 cm, some loss of letters), upper margin partly cropped close, first text leaf sligthly stained, last leaf verso with negligible stamp. In general well preserved manuscript in a neat hand, emphasized words in a larger size and underlined in red.
