EINBAND: Roter Maroquinband des späten 18. Jahrhunderts mit floraler Rückenvergoldung, dreifacher goldgeprägter Deckelfilete, Steh- und Innenkantenvergoldung sowie Ganzgoldschnitt. Folio. 27,5 : 19 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit zahlreichen eingemalten Lombarden in Rot und Hellblau sowie Holzschnitt-Druckermarke am Ende. - KOLLATION: 169 nn. Bll. Textspiegel durchgeh. regliert. - ZUSTAND: Ohne das weiße Bl. a8 und eine letzte unbezeichnete Lage [*] mit 4 Bll., die offensichtlich bei fast allen Expl. fehlt (vgl. Adams und Edit 16). Text hier in sich komplett. - Durchgeh. leicht gebräunt, Titeltext ausgeschnitten und montiert, erstes Textbl. mit kl. hinterl. Fehlstelle im Rand. Kanten leicht berieben, RDeckel mit kl. Schabspur. Schönes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Weißes Vorblatt verso mit kl. mont. Bibl.-Signatur (um 1800). - Exlibris Eckhard Günther.

Scarce first edition. Beautiful antiqua print with Greek types and fine lombards in red and light blue, text area ruled, woodcut printer's device at end. Late 18th cent. morocco with floral gilt spine, gilt fillets, inside gilt border and gilt edges. - Without the blank leaf a8 and the nearly always lacking quire [*]/4 at end (cf. Adams and Edit 16), but the text here is complete in itself. - Light browning throughout, title cut out and mounted, first text leaf with smal backed marginal defect in the margin. Edges slightly rubbed, rear board with small scratch. Fine copy. - Collection Eckhard Günther.
