Die seltene, erste Ausgabe der Schrift, eine der bedeutsamsten Publikationen des niederländischen Anatomen und Physiologen Reinier de Graaf (1641-1673). "Claude Bernard held him in very high esteem and dedicated his meditations on the role of the experimental physiologist to him. De Graaf published works on very diverse subjects; he also devised the method of the pancreatic fistula" (Marc Klein).
